• After selecting a version of Ubuntu, click on the download button.
• Now a new thank you page will open on your desktop and it will start downloading.
• This is a .iso file. which you can use to create a bootable USB drive.
• You can save this file at any place of your choice.
• Now you will need a 4GB USB drive as the downloading process will delete all the data on the USB drive.
• Be sure to back up the data on the USB drive.

Create USB drive

• First, open the dialogue then type create a startup.
• Now if it is not installed it will give you the option to install it.
• Open the utility by selecting the option for the USB drive.
• Now click on any to browse and select the downloaded Ubuntu file.
• Now select the USB drive below and click on Make Startup Disk.

Boot up 

• To boot up Ubuntu first shut down your system by removing the USB device.
• Turn on the system by inserting the Ubuntu USB drive into the system.
• Then your system automatically boots off the USB drive.
• USB booting needs to be configur in the boot menu.
• To configure the boot order
• double-tap the Boot Menu key every second as soon as the computer starts up.
• The boot menu key may differ according to your computer.
• Use the arrows to select the Ubuntu media.
• The system should now start loading the Ubuntu Live Disk menu.
• Before installing it, test its new version or whatever version you are installing.
• To test it, launch this mode by clicking on the button to try Ubuntu.
• Now two options will appear on your desktop one is to try ubuntu and the other is to install it.
• Click on the button Install Ubuntu and start installing it.
• Now the system will select English.
• If there is a non-standard keyboard then you can select it, if not then click on Detect keyboard layout and the system will automatically select your keyboard.
• Use labeled fields to test the keyboard.
• Click on continue for further process.

Choose Applications

• Now a page of Updates and other software will open on your desktop.
• Here you are given the option of Normal installation, Minimal installation, and Download updates while installing it, which you can choose according to your convenience.
• After selecting, press the continue button for further process.
• The process of choosing the application is end, and now we will start the further process.
• Our next process is Disk Partition in this you will be given an installation-type dialogue. Here you will click on Erase Disk.
• Now clean your hard drive and go to the next step to do.

To specify disk partitions use the following

• LVM (Logical Volume Management) – It is used to manage virtual drives
• Encryption For Security – This encrypts the drive. You will decrypt and use the drive by choosing a security key.
• Use ZFS – Full name of ZFC is Zettabyte File System It is develop by Sun Microsystems. It has now evolved into a hybrid file system and volume manager.
• Click on Something Else to create the hard drive partition.
• Now a new page will open on your desktop where you have to create a partition table and logical drive.
• Now click on continue to apply the changes.
• After that, you will write the changes to the disk.
• To make the selected option permanent, click on Continue.
• Click on continue for further process.
• Now in the further process, we select the time zone.
• It will ask you your location for selecting the time means where are you?
• Now you will write the name of the big city near you in the box.
• Your system will determine your local time zone based on the name of the city typed in the box.
• Now click on the continue button.
• In the next step, we will create a user account.

How to Create a user account

• To create a user I’d, first, enter your real name.
• Now in the next option, you have to specify the name of the computer, this name will be the hostname or network name.
• In its username you will give the account you want to use.
• In the password Column, you will create a strong password.
• Log it in automatically now This is not publicly recommend for servers.
• You need a password to log in.
• After the installer is finish, remove the Ubuntu installation media. You will be ask to restart now.
• When the installation process is finish, you can remove the Ubuntu installation media.
• Now the option of restart will appear in front of you, here you will click on the restart button.
• Your system will now boot into your newly installed version.

The disadvantages of Ubuntu

• Due to limited application, its functionality is also limite.
• Contains limited game titles.
• There are many problems with the connection as well, sometimes there is a problem with not connecting the printer to the computer.
• Even though Linux operating systems are a better option
• Ubuntu is not a better option.
